RBS 25 Concentrate, 5 litre bottle RBS 35 Concentrate, 5 litre bottle

For manual and ultrasonic cleaning of glassware, optics, metal parts and electronics. Just 20 ml per litre of water.

One concentrate, three cleaning methods

RBS 25 and RBS 35 are designed for manual cleaning and ultrasonic baths, and for soaking. Both work at the same low dilution of 20 ml per litre of water, ideally at 50 °C.

Manual cleaning

Items are wetted or soaked in the RBS solution, which penetrates the soil. A brush or sponge then lifts and disperses it, followed by a rinse.

Best for: small batches and medium-sized items such as flasks, beakers, measuring cylinders and containers

Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasonic waves add mechanical action to the RBS solution. Faster and easier to control than manual cleaning, and safer for staff because it avoids splashes.

Best for: glassware, small parts, and items with narrow lines, manifolds and joints

Soaking

No brushing needed. The solution's wetting, emulsifying and dispersing power removes the residue on its own. Higher temperature or concentration speeds it up.

Best for: delicate or awkward items; overnight or long cycles (RBS 35 recommended for soaks over 3 hours in tap water)

Tip: For stubborn soils, use an ultrasonic bath, raise the solution temperature, or increase the concentration. Always rinse straight after cleaning, preferably with demineralised water.

Where RBS 25 and RBS 35 are used

Glass & Optics

RBS 25 and RBS 35 are both recommended by the manufacturer for the glass and optics industry. They remove particles, dust, fats and oils completely, leaving surfaces free of the traces and residues that can affect optical performance.

Typical uses: optical lenses, microscope slides, thin glass, mirrors, technical glass and laboratory glassware.

Research & analytical laboratories

Glassware and equipment in stainless steel, plastic, porcelain, quartz and ceramic. Removes organic and mineral residues, distillation residues, proteins and cell cultures for reliable, reproducible results.

Electronics & semiconductors

Cleaning and degreasing of electronic components and silicon or quartz wafers.

Metalworking & precision engineering

Degreasing of metal parts, stainless-steel components and injection moulds.

Production & manufacturing

Cleaning of production equipment and parts made of glass and stainless steel.

Compatible materials

The original RBS cleaner. Cost-effective and multipurpose.

RBS 25 Concentrate

RBS 25 Concentrate is a multipurpose, concentrated, foaming alkaline liquid cleaner for manual cleaning, ultrasonic baths and soaking. Its high emulsifying and wetting power gives excellent penetration in the cleaning bath. It removes organic and mineral residues, greases, oils, distillation residues, proteins and cell cultures, then rinses away completely without leaving any traces or invisible film.

RBS 25 was the first product in the RBS range, introduced as a safer alternative to chromic acid solutions for cleaning laboratory glassware.

Key benefits

  • High cleaning power at low concentration (2%)
  • Wide range of applications in laboratories and industry
  • High wetting and emulsifying power
  • Total rinse: no traces or film
  • Biodegradable surfactants
  • Cost-effective

How to use

  1. Dilute 20 ml of RBS 25 Concentrate per litre of water, preferably at 50 °C.
  2. Clean manually, in an ultrasonic bath, or by full immersion (soaking).
  3. Keep soaking time under 3 hours in tap water to avoid limescale deposits. For longer soaks, dilute in demineralised water.
  4. Rinse immediately with tap water, or better, with demineralised water.

Recommended for: laboratory glassware and equipment; electronic components; silicon and quartz wafers; metal parts; injection moulds; glass and optical lenses; production equipment.

High-performance cleaning, unaffected by hard water.

RBS 35 Concentrate

RBS 35 Concentrate is a multipurpose, concentrated, foaming alkaline liquid cleaner for manual cleaning, ultrasonic baths and soaking. It is insensitive to water hardness, so items can soak for long periods in ordinary tap water without limescale deposits. It removes organic and mineral residues, distillation residues, fats, ointments and cell cultures, and rinses away completely without leaving any traces or invisible film.

RBS 35 is a safer alternative to solvents and sulfochromic acid cleaning mixtures, which are toxic and hazardous.

Key benefits

  • High cleaning power at low concentration (2%)
  • Insensitive to water hardness: no limescale, even on long soaks
  • High wetting and emulsifying power
  • Total rinse: no traces or film
  • Biodegradable surfactants
  • Milder hazard classification than RBS 25 (eye irritant only)
  • Cost-effective

How to use

  1. Dilute 20 ml of RBS 35 Concentrate per litre of distilled or tap water, preferably at 50 °C.
  2. Clean manually, in an ultrasonic bath, or by full immersion (soaking). Prolonged soaking in tap water is fine.
  3. Rinse immediately with tap water, or better, with deionised water.

Recommended for: laboratory glassware and equipment in plastic, porcelain, ceramic, quartz and stainless steel; metal parts; moulds; lenses and glass; silicon wafers; production equipment.

Which one is right for you?

Both products clean the same materials, at the same 20 ml per litre dilution, by manual, ultrasonic or soaking methods. Choose RBS 35 if your water is hard or items soak for more than 3 hours. Choose RBS 25 for routine manual and ultrasonic cycles where cost matters most.

Storage and handling

  • Store in the original closed container in a cool, well-ventilated place, ideally 5–25 °C (tolerates 3–50 °C for up to 200 days).
  • Keep away from acids and do not mix with other products.
  • Not for use on white metals or other sensitive metals.
  • Renew cleaning baths regularly; a drop in pH or loss of foam means the bath is weakening.
  • Avoid release to drains and the environment; dispose of according to local regulations.

Environmental note: The surfactants in both products meet the biodegradability criteria of EU Detergents Regulation (EC) No 648/2004. Their Safety Data Sheets are issued under EU REACH, and neither product contains substances on the REACH Candidate List (SVHC) or Restriction List.
